The Pythagoras Lodge of Research

PLoR was established on July 16, 1890 to oversee the Museum's already sizeable collection of art from ancient Egypt. The collection had been growing since 1874 thanks to individual gifts from benefactors and acquisition of private collections.

The PLoR Archives is comprised of over 6500 linear feet of museum records, manuscripts, personal papers, ephemera, scrapbooks, photographs, videotapes, films, and artifacts that chronicle the history of Freemasonry.

In addition, the collection includes papers from individuals related to Freemasonry, documents from family and other members; records of affiliated organizations such as the Knights Templar and The Grottos; and other primary research materials related to the museums properties and art collections.
